When red bonds a community

It all started rather randomly, months ago. Some people at our CrossFit gym happened to be wearing red shirts one Wednesday during the noon class. That group quickly insisted that everyone wear red on Wednesdays and even ordered official red “Wednesday” shirts.

Over the next few months, “Red shirt Wednesday” became an official thing across all of the classes. So what happened if you showed up to a Wednesday class not donning a red shirt? Well, lots and lots of shade would be thrown. All in good fun, of course.

Fast forward to our current pandemic situation. Like many others, our gym is closed and it has left all of us to workout on our own. The workouts keep coming though — now to be done at home. Our fearless leader, Steve continues to post new daily workouts on Wodify, and we all still enter our scores.

What’s happening in the world is scary. We need something positive in our lives and we already all miss each other. The best part? Red shirt Wednesday still continues to bond us. This past Wednesday, all throughout the day, the red shirts kept coming. As people completed their workout at home, they would post a selfie on our member Facebook page. We all felt as close as ever.

We all will be together again soon. Until then, red it is. ❤️
