Introducing EMP Money

In my previous article I wrote about EMP Money to update on the NFT issuance and changes to the ESHARE rewards. In this article, I will introduce the protocol in more detail. As I mentioned previously, EMP Money is a fork of Tomb Finance and the native token is EMP which is pegged to the price of ETH at a ratio of 4000 EMP per ETH. EMP Money is one of the best ways to gain exposure to ETH and earn high staking rewards.

The project is led by AJ Brockman who has a tonne of business experience and is a veteren in the crypto space. AJ is a great promoter and all round good guy. His community engagement is second to none with AMAs held most days. He also has a gift for bringing hype to the project whether it be his coverage of the daily Reactor and Detonator rollovers or improvements to the ecosystem.

EMP Money also stands out due to the ROI dApp they created called the Detonator. The Detonator allows a person to deposit their EMP/ETH LP tokens into a smart contract with a promised a return of 365% of their initial deposit that can be gradually claimed back on a daily basis. This might remind people of the DRIP Faucet but the mechanics are completely different. At present, the daily payout rate is lower than the DRIP Faucet and rewards don’t compound the same way. I will discuss the mechanics of Detonator in a separate article. What I believe is the key attraction to Detonator are the deposit prizes.

Given the success of the Detonator, the team has expanded this offering by adding the Reactor where you can deposit the ESHARE/BNB LP. This is now the only way to provide incentivised liquidity for this LP pair. EMP Money also offers Detonator as a Service (DaaS) which makes the contract mechanics available to other DeFi protocols that are looking for a way to provide incentivised liquidity. The benefit of this service for EMP Money is that there is a 10% deposit fee with 4% going straight to the treasury which can be used to continue supporting the protocol. The Detonator contract is closed source so no one can fork the contract and is the reason they can provide the service.

While the Detonator is the centrepiece of what makes the protocol tick, there are other aspects to the protocol. I also have a general recommendation (not financial advice) to deposit at least $1000 into the Detonator or Reactor to make it worthwhile. Why I’m Bullish On EMP Money

For a start, I’m bullish on the long term price of ETH. While there are many so called “ETH killers”, the fact is they are a leader in the world of layer 1 blockchains. It is hard to see their mantle being taken away any time soon. If you do not believe in ETH then this may not be for you. I also trust the team at EMP, they offer a strong APR on what is effectively staking ETH but the APR is sustainable rather than offering something ridiculously high.

EMP Money is also battle tested. We are in the midst of a brutal bear market where Tomb Forks have been consumed by the algo coin stigma. EMP Money have also had challenges but have been one of the strongest in the space. Not only does the team attract larger amounts of capital but they have an effective Treasury that is able to manage liquidity and incentivise it appropriately.

Final Thoughts

In future articles I will discuss various strategies you can apply within the ecosystem. I will also examine the pros and cons of each element of the ecosystem and reveal what I am doing. I aim to be transparent by updating my strategy as AJ is always thinking about the game theory and normally comes up with bullish adjustments that no one was thinking about. Overall, I believe that EMP Money is the safest play in the Tomb Fork space. If AJ is reading he will want me to mention that they are much more than a Tomb Fork.
