Not All Women Love Talking About Recipes

Throughout the years, I discovered that I get bored talking with other women about recipes, decorating a house, curtains, pictures, and similar related stuff. Whether married or single, there are many women who enjoy an intelligent conversation that doesn’t involve raising children, hairstyles, or other so-called female tidbits.

Perhaps this goes back to my early years when I was child. My mother was not one to fret over petty things in the house. Although she was exceptionally clean and a great cook, her focus was on reading and learning new things. Our weekly adventure was a trip to the local library. I always say, “The love for reading was the greatest gift my mother ever gave me.”

I guess that might explain my interest in world events, science, and other non-fiction subjects. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy cooking and fixing the house up. However, that has never and will never be my priority in life.

Sometimes it is hard for me to understand why people pigeonhole women into stereotype behaviors and feminine responses. Although we have many similarities, we are as different as the snowflakes are in design.

Our interests, likes and dislikes vary. So next time you talk to a woman, remember she just might like to talk about something other than what’s for dinner. Thank you…
