It Can Be Really Hard To Trust People

But don’t ever stop trying.

Few things in life feel as devastating as someone breaking a bond of trust. It’s devastatingly personal and conjures up feelings of disappointment, shock, and betrayal.

Take a look at that short list. You may have a lot of positive relationships, but how many fit the bill of being truly trusted friends?

I mean, fully fit the bill.

For me, I can count them on one hand.

Actually on one finger.

It’s my sister. That’s it. And you know what? Having one person being your confidant works quite well. It’s easier to keep track of the convos and you know everyone is up to speed at all times.

It’s a real time saver.

There have been times in my life I’ve had a directory of sorts filled with people I trust.

Then I learned.

The hard way.

Being able to fully trust someone with your secrets or anything else, is hard, but it is necessary. We all need to talk, vent, or tease out a situation with a trustworthy person, other than our partner at one time or another.

Why?

If you don’t trust them, it won’t work. It will only cause you to hold things back and tamp down your vulnerability.
