Farm Picking

Weekend is approaching and I was thinking of doing some activity and this particular farm picking event caught my attention. My love towards strawberries made me decide to go to UnderWood Family Farms for strawberry picking. It was around easter time and there were many fun activities going on for kids too.

I reached Moorpark with my friends excited to fill my tummy with freshly picked strawberries and was amazed to see the number of people who were there. The parking lot was really big so, we had no problem in finding a spot to park. The entry ticket to the farm is $5 for adults. You can visit their website for pricing details during the time of your visit.

We entered the farm after purchasing the tickets and my excitement doubled after seeing the very huge farms. It’s not just strawberry farms but also other fruits and vegetables like oranges, cherries, blueberries, cabbage, spinach, carrots, beets, cauliflowers, cilantro, tomatoes, artichokes, avocados and many more. There is a wagon ride which toursyou around the farm.

Next we entered the strawberry farm. We can see the fresh, red, mouth watering berries peeping amidst the leaves. Walking carefully so that you don’t step on the plants, I picked my first strawberry and filled my baskets with more of them.

We also picked few oranges on our way and put our baskets in a wagon cart.

There are also food stalls and ice-cream truck if you feel hungry. We got a spot for ourselves to sit and relax for some time, watching the kids participate in easter activities. There was egg & spoon race, egg-hunt and other fun activities going on with parents encouraging their kids and helping them when needed. We managed to click many pictures as I always do and feeling satisfied and extremely happy that our day was spent really well, we reached the market stall. Make sure you pay for what you picked before leaving.

We reached home with enticing baskets and now it’s time to taste the yummy fruits and they are really delicious as they look.
