Why Conventional Wisdom Is Almost Always Wrong

It will have a massive impact on the way that you will go out and meet new people. It will have a massive impact on your relationships. How many of you have clients that they just

love your work and love the service you provide, they love your product, and they refer people to you? Okay. And how many of you have clients but they don’t refer a lot of clients to you? Okay. How many of you want more referrals? Yeah?

(laughter) Okay, good. Yes? — [Crowd] Yes. Good. So I’m gonna show you how to get more referrals, how to get more referrals. How many of you go to other, like different networking things and networking events

and you try to expand your network? How many of you do that? Okay. So I’m gonna give you some very practical strategies. Uh, you notice we didn’t play the networking game in part one. I’m gonna actually do it in part two.

I’m actually gonna teach you strategies and then you implement it when you’re playing networking game. Sound good? — [Crowd] Yes. — (mumbles) You gonna apply it And I’m also gonna do something a little bit different,

you’ll see. So connect and convert. Connect and convert. Now you’ll notice everything I teach, I keep everything very simple, Yes? — [Crowd] Yes. Cause there’s genius, I believe there is genius in simplicity.

I want to keep things very very simple. You’ll notice basically being around with me for a long period of time, basically, I have about eight or nine fundamental principals that I follow. And I just basically keep saying the same thing

again and again, but from different angle. Okay. And of those could be the success cycle. You’ll notice basically every class I’ll go back to that. I’ll keep pointing to that success cycle. We’ll keep working on it, and on, and on it.

Another principal of course is though energy drainer, the four rules. Again, I’ll keep working on that, keep going back to it again and again. Uh, here’s another one, and that is 97%, 3%. Repeat after me. 97%, 3%.

- One more time. 97%, 3%. — 97% of the population are dead or dead broke by the age of 65. Only 3% succeed financially. 97% are dead or dead broke because they have been conditioned. What’s the word? — [Crowd] Conditioned.

- You think like a poor person. The 3% that succeed, how many recognize that successful people think very differently than poor people, yes? — [Crowd] Yes. — Absolutely. In fact, they think the opposite.

They think what? — [Crowd] The opposite. Do you know that less than 6% of the population makes over a hundred thousand dollars a year? Do you know less than 1% of the population makes over three hundred and twenty five thousand

dollars a year? Less than 1% of the population. So 3% of the people who are succeeding, and 97% are struggling. What that means is, today I’m gonna teach you how, what the 97% are doing wrong when it comes

to growing their network and meeting new people. And what are the 3%, that are doing right. Interested? — [Crowd] Yes. And it’s going to be very, very, for some of you it’s going to be mind blowing. For some of you it’s gonna be a reminder.

What is it? — [Crowd] A reminder. Maybe it will give you a couple of techniques that can refine your approach. Maybe you were doing a little bit of that, but how can we do more? Got it? — [Crowd] Got it.

- So repeat after me “becoming a millionaire is not difficult, it is what?” — [Crowd] Different. — It is different. There’s a way for you to win at this game, but it’s very very different, from the way that you’ve been playing it.

Very very different. Very very different. And I say, as I always say, find out what the majority of the people are doing, the 97% and then you do exactly the? — [Crowd] Opposite. — Why? Why? (laughter)

Because conventional wisdom, good (mumbles name) is almost always wrong. So if you observe what most people are doing at different networking functions, you will know if you just do the opposite, chances are

you’re on the right track. If you do what everyone else is doing, chances are you are doing it? — [Crowd] Wrong. — Wrong. Make sense? So 97%, 3%
