The 5 Best Romcoms to Watch in the Winter

These films will thaw even the coldest of hearts and make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Out of all the seasons, I’ve always liked winter the most. Yes, it’s cold and snow can be annoying. But I also believe it to be the most magical time of the year.

And even though Christmas is now over, there’s still magic to be found. We’ve turned the page to a new year — and a new decade at that. And with new beginnings, there is hope.

And isn’t that what romance is all about? Hope that the one you love truly loves you back. Whether you’re looking to spark a new romance or rekindle the one you have, winter is the perfect time to do it.

The Holiday follows two women, Iris (Kate Winslet) and Amanda (Cameron Diaz), who are fed up with love and looking to escape for the holidays. They decide to swap houses, so Iris ends up in sunny California while Amanda finds herself in picturesque England.

Amanda, on the other hand, is unlucky in love and looking to escape it entirely. Despite her avoidance, love does eventually find her, and watching her finally give in to it is utterly satisfying.

An ensemble story, Love Actually, tells nine interconnected stories of people’s experience with love and how it connects us all. Among them are prime minister David (Hugh Grant) who has feelings for one of his staffers (Martine McCutcheon), Harry (Alan Rickman) who is fighting feelings for his secretary even though he has a wife (Emma Thompson) and…
