For new non-techy MacBook users like me wondering what are the best, easy-to-operate apps they need on their MacBook.

I’ve got it covered in this article.

As someone who has shiny object syndrome and loves tinkering around with stuff. I have tried a lot of apps, and these few are a must-have if you are a non-techy MacBook user who wants stuff that just works.

AlDente was developed to protect and reduce the aging time of your MacBook’s battery.

If you’re like me, you like to keep your laptop plugged in for hours at a time — which ages your battery faster and damages it over time.

AlDente will keep your battery charged at the certain percentage you set it at. Your computer then runs directly from the power adapter.

I limited my battery percentage to 80%. This reduces the full charge cycle of the battery, thus slowing down the aging process of your battery.

I should mention that Apple has a battery optimization setting you could use, a smart optimization for your battery, if you may. But, I do not have confidence in it and I prefer the total control AlDente provides.

In case you were wondering, the free version is all I need and all I use.

This here is one of my favorite apps, as a writer. The ability to resize my windows and move them to any part of my screen without messing with those arrows that appear at the edge when you want to resize a window.
